1. 🏅 The Paris Olympics went out with a bang thanks to a sci-fi-style show featuring a character called “The Golden Voyager,” performances by Phoenix and Billie Eilish, and Tom Cruise pulling off a Mission Impossible-worthy stunt to officially pass the torch to LA for the 2028 Olympics.

2. 🎓 Thanks to new rules allowing college athletes to monetize their name, image, and likeness, NCAA athletes dominated the Olympics, with over 1,200 current, former, or incoming students competing for 125 different countries.

3. 🎥 The summer movie season was surprisingly hot this year due to the major success of blockbusters like Deadpool vs. Wolverine and Twisters, and also surprise hits like Longlegs and It Ends With Us.

4. 🎢 Disney showed off some upcoming expansions to its theme parks, including a new Monsters, Inc. land at Hollywood Studios, a Tropical Americas land at Animal Kingdom, and an Avatar attraction coming to California Adventure.

5. 📱 TikTok wants everyone in its DMs with a new feature that allows up to 32 people to join group chats.
