Welcome back, Team TeaTalk! Who’s watching the Olympics? Obviously, I’m rooting for Team Canada, where the men’s basketball and women’s rugby teams just crushed Australia in both events. Feeling a lot of Canuck pride today… and only slightly polite about it.

🏅 If you missed the Olympics opening ceremony, The Associated Press has a rundown of the highlights, which includes amazing performances from Celine Dion and Lady Gaga, a gathering of Olympic legends, and a hooded torchbearer who looked straight out of Assassin’s Creed.
🍿 Disney’s Deadpool & Wolverine absolutely dominated the box office with a domestic debut of $211 million, making it the biggest opening weekend for an R-rated movie and the sixth-biggest opening of any movie ever.
📺 Veep, HBO’s incredible political satire starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus, saw its viewership skyrocket 350% when Vice President Kamala Harris became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee after President Biden elected to drop out of the race.
🎮 Look North World, a video game studio and publisher focusing on UGC titles like Fortnite and Roblox scored $2.25 million in a funding round led by London Venture Partners.
🚽 Skibidi Toilet, the viral meme turned YouTube digital series, is getting the Hollywood treatment thanks to former Paramount film president Adam Goodman and legendary director Michael Bay.

Small French designers such as Jeanne Friot, Charles de Vilmorin, and Victor Weinsanto were big winners, with Daphné Bürki, the styling and costumes director of the opening ceremony, choosing 15 emerging brands to be showcased.
Women’s sports are having a genuine fashion moment right now, as the International Olympic Committee set a goal of having an equal 50-50 split between male and female athletes this year.
